Puppets, Puppets

My son is almost three.  Where has the time gone??  He is starting to really get into imaginative play.  This is such an awesome stage.  Honestly, I have loved every stage of his young life, and it is so exciting to be living them all again with his little sister, and seeing how different she is.  I swell with such joy when I think of my kids!!

Anyway...my son LOVES his stuffed animals.  I know most kids have a ton of stuffed animals, and they sit around taking up space, but my son absolutely adores his.  He has about 40, and every single one of them is special to him, and every single one of them sleeps with him.  I know, I know...thank goodness the child sleeps in a full size bed.

I wanted to make some fun toys for my son, and I wanted to crochet them, so I decided to make him some finger puppets, and then I couldn't resist making a hand puppet too.

Cuff Bracelet with Crochet Flowers

I wanted to add a little something extra to my two grandmas' Christmas gifts.  For the last couple of years we have gotten them framed pictures of our kiddos.  My adorable kids add cheer to every day!  I couldn't resist adding a little touch of handmade love to their gifts, so I decided to make them a fabric bookmark with a crochet flower attached to the top.  I didn't take any pictures before I sent them off, so I can't show them to you, but I thought they turned out cute.  My husband saw the bookmark and he told me that he thought I could make a really neat cuff bracelet using the same idea.  I couldn't resist trying, and this is what I came up with:

I love it!!  I really like the fabric that I used, and it worked perfectly with the two different colors of cotton yarn.  The flowers are detachable using small snaps, and the cuff attaches with two larger snaps.  Now I want to make lots more with all different kinds of fabric!!  I am working on listing some in my etsy shop, so feel free to take a look!

Crochet Slouchie Beanie

This is our first winter here in Airzona.  We are surrounded by mountains in our neck of the desert, so I suppose it was bound to get a bit chilly some days.  We have had a decently cool spell the past couple of weeks.  I couldn't resist making myself a crochet slouchie beanie.  I have wanted one for a long time, but hats have never been my specialty, mainly because of the progression on the top, but with a slouchie beanie, there is none!  I tried out a few patterns, but I wasn't pleased with them, so I decided to create my own.  My husband liked mine so much, that he asked me to make him one too (in a much more many color, of course).  I think he looks much better in his than I do in mine, but what do I expect?  He is a very good looking mountain man!  After seeing how handsome it looked on him, two of my husband's coworkers put in requests for theirs as well.  I love to crochet, and it is fun being able to come up with new projects.  I always struggle with what crochet items I can make during the warm months too.  Any suggestions?  Thanks for stopping by!

And I couldn't resist putting in a picture of the crochet Christmas tree hair clips I made for my daughter last night.  I used gold crochet thread and attached them to partiallly lined alligator clips.  So festive!!

Baby Hair Bows

It is hard to believe that my baby girl is 7 months old.  She actually has quite a bit of hair for a baby her age, and I realized that it is long enough to put bows in.  Well, of course, I had to make her some cute little hair bows.  I made them in a rainbow of colors (42 different colors, actually), and I added no slip grip so they would stay in her super fine baby hair.  I think she looks quite adorable!!  If you would like to purchase some for a special little girl in your life, you can find them at my etsy shop.  All of the bows in my shop are only $1 each.

I also made the basic and boutique bows shown below.  They are also only $1 each.

Personalized Baby Taggie Lovey

My 6 month old daughter, Camryn, cannot get enough of the tags on her stuffed animals.  Don't get me wrong...she is a fan of eating her stuffed tigger's face too, but when she finds the tag on her toys, so gets this look of complete concentration on her face, and takes such delight on snacking on the tag.

I had seen taggie lovies before, and I wasn't sold on the idea, but since Camryn loves tags so much, I decided that she needed a taggie lovey.  And to make it extra special, I personalized it with a big, pretty letter "C".  I have a custom order available at my etsy shop, just in case you can't resist getting one for your baby or a baby shower.
